Hand-built in Works Electric's Portland workshop, the Rover BR2 is a 35-mph electric two-wheeler that will quickly dispel any preconceptions that scooters are just for kids. This fast, rugged tandem wheel scooter is made for adults.
The company's all-aluminum chassis uses an aerospace fastening system that virtually eliminates the need for welded joints. This results in an ultra-stiff and strong chassis designed for improved maneuverability. The lithium battery pack and electric motor are mounted low and centralized in the frame. Add in 14-inch pneumatic street tires and you get a machine that can carve through corners with ease. Optional knobbies are available if you prefer light off-roading on dirt-packed trails and fire roads.
Since the electric motor produces 4 kw of power and 35 ft-lbs of torque, the 35 MPH max speed is going to come up quickly. Laws regarding electric scooters vary by jurisdiction, so make sure this beast would be legal transportation in your area before blasting down the street, or stick to private roads.
The Rover has a robust folding system that lets it be folded to a height of 19 inches in seconds. When folded, the Rover can fit in elevators, through doorways, under office desks, and even in the trunk of your car.
If you're looking for a small portable transportation option that will zoom you around a work or education campus at almost three times the speed of a Segway and you value world-class hand-built quality, then few vehicles will fit the bill like the Works Electric scooter.
