Ventura - Santa Barbara Area Has Full Slate Of NDEW Events

The National Drive Electric Week events begin with “Energy Efficiency – Use Your Power to Affect Climate Change” on Saturday, September 12th from 9:30 AM to 4 PM at the the Ojai Center for Spiritual Living at the Ojai Valley Women’s Club, 441 E. Ojai Ave., Ojai, CA 93023. The day-long workshop focuses on ways homeowners can reduce their use of fossil fuels by combining energy efficient buildings with solar systems, renewable energy supplies and the use of electric vehicles. The workshop costs $10 and is sponsored by Ventura County Regional Energy AllianceCity of OjaiRotary Club of Ojai, and Nutiva Nourish Foundation. EV Advocates of Ventura County are inviting all area EV enthusiasts to gather on Sunday, September 13th at 11:00 AM for the Road Rally for Fossil Fuel Freedom, which runs from Ventura to Ojai. Gathering at the public chargers in front of the beach parking structure adjacent to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ventura, drivers will put signs on their vehicles then drive to Ojai together using as many surface streets as possible. The destination is National Drive Electric Week event at the Center for Spiritual Living. The Sunday, showcase of electric vehicles will run from 1 PM to 3 PM. Organizers will offer sandwiches and baked goods as a small fundraiser for lunch. Organizers have a dozen vehicles already registered but are expecting twice as many vehicles the day of the show. 

Also happening on Sunday, September 13th is the Santa Barbara Tesla morning coffee gathering at the Tesla Sales and Service Center. 

On Sunday, September 20th, The EV Advocates of Ventura County will also be attending the Goleta Green Car Show at the Camino Real Marketplace, 7004 Market Pl Dr., Goleta, CA 93117 from 10 AM to 2 PM. The Green Car Show has been presented by the Community Environmental Council since 2013.
