Trina Solar is the world’s largest manufacturer of solar photovoltaics and for the past few years has repeatedly been on Fortune 's list of 100 fastest growing companies.
Trina is a fully vertically integrated manufacturer. This means they handle every step of the solar panel manufacturing process from raw material to production. The company produces mono- and multi-crystalline panels for utility, commercial and residential applications. Trina makes two models of panels for residential installations.
The PD05: 60-Cell Universal Modules are the company's most competitively price product. The PD05 modules are available in ratings from 245W to 260W. The PD05 panels are compatible with all major balance-of-system (BOS) components. BOS components are all the pieces that are not the panels including racking systems, cables/wires, switches, enclosures, fuses and ground fault detectors.
The Duomax Series panels, are a dual-glass module that uses two layers of 2.5-mm (0.09-inch) heat-strengthened glass and don't need grounding. The Duomax panels are available in output ratings of 245W to 310W.
Trinasmart modules can also be outfitted with DC power optimizers from Tigo Energy to achieve module-level diagnostics, maximum energy harvest through module level DC power optimization, and reduction of arc, fire and safety hazards. Integration of the module optimizer into the junction-box enables patented Smart Curve technology, which allows up to 30% longer strings and significant balance-of-system (BOS) savings.
The company's headquarters and production facilities are located in Jiangsu China. North American regional headquarters are in San Jose, California.
