Six Events Scheduled for Bay Area California

National Drive Electric Week events are scheduled for six San Francisco Bay area events in the cities of Palo Alto, San Mateo, Richmond, Santa Rosa, Ukiah and Novato, California.

ProjectGreenHome.org will be hosting their event on Sunday, September 13 from 1 PM to 4 PM at 314 Stanford Ave. in Palo Alto, CA 94306. Organizers are expecting Assembly Member Rich Gordon to be present for some words of encouragement and congratulations. More than 20 EVs are scheduled including Nissan Leaf, BMW i3, Tesla Model S, Fiat 500e, Kia Soul EV, Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive, Tesla Roadster, Zero Motorcycle and more. Also close by is the nation’s first free residential curb-side EV charger.

The City of San Mateo presents the Electric Vehicle Expo on Saturday, September 12 at Franklin Templeton Investments, 1 Franklin Parkway, San Mateo, CA 94403 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Organizers will have demo rides available in a, BMW i3, Chevrolet Volt, Ford C-Max Energi, Ford Fusion Energi, Mercedes B-Class, Nissan LEAF, Tesla Model S and VW e-Golf. Vendors will be on site including: CaliforniaFIRST, ChargePoint, Eco Green Auto Clean, NRG EVgo, Free Energy Systems, Luminalt, Mongoose Electric, PlugShare, Schneider Electric, SemaConnect, SolarCity, and SunPower. Sponsored are Peter Pan BMW, Menlo Spark, Franklin Templeton Investments, Charge Point, SemaConnect, Ford C-Max Energi, EcoReco, The City of Burlingame, California First Efficiency Financing, Luminalt Solar Energy Solutions, Solar City, Boardwalk Auto Mall, NRG EVGo, Mongoose Electric, Fiat 500e, Free Energy Systems, ELV Motors, Schneider Electric, Plug Share and Sunpower. With nearly 500 preregistered to attend, the San Mateo event promises to be one of the larger events in the Bay Area.

On Thursday, September 17 from 10 AM to 4 PM, EVs including a Chevrolet Volt and Spark EV, Fiat 500e, Smart fortwo electric drive, Volkswagen e-Golf and more will be gathering at the Richmond City Hall Parking Lot (across from Richmond Public Library) at 450 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA 94804. Saturday, September 19th, the Golden Gate Electric Vehicle AssociationPG&E, Transportation Authority of Marin and MCE Clean Energy will hold an event at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, Vintage Way, Rowland Blvd Exit off Highway 101 in Novato, CA 94945 from 9:30 AM to 4 PM. Organizers have Nissan LEAF, Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive, Tesla Model S and Roadster EVs scheduled to be on display.

On Sunday, September 13th, National Drive Electric Week returns to Coddingtown Mall, Coddingtown Shopping Center, 733 Coddingtown Center, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 from 11 AM to 4 PM. Organizers are expecting even more electric vehicles on hand this year for test drives: BMW, Chevrolet, Fiat, Ford, Kia, Mercedes, Nissan, Tesla, and Volkswagen.  EV owners will be on hand to answer questions about driving electric.  Get information about solar energy and charging stations.  PG&E and Sonoma Clean Power will provide electrical cost information.

Head further up Highway 101 out of the Bay area to the city of Ukiah. Mendocino Council of Governments Regional Transportation Planning Agency have their event scheduled for Saturday, September 19th from 10 AM to 4 PM at City Parking Lot A, Oak & Standley Streets, Ukiah, CA 95482. Parking Lot A is the location of the City of Ukiah’s EV charging station. Just down the street will be the Fabulous Flashback Car Show. Car enthusiats of all kinds, vendors and crowds will be present in the downtown area.
