San Diego to Host One Of Southern California's Largest EV Events for NDEW 2016

Sponsored by San Diego Gas & Electric, the Center for Sustainable Energy and Cleantech San Diego, the San Diego National Drive Electric Week event promises to be one of the largest gatherings of EVs in Southern California. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 17th from 10 AM to 3 PM at Qualcomm Stadium, 9449 Friars Rd, San Diego, CA 92108. The event is in sections P & N of the stadium parking lot.

To date, nearly 120 vehicles are registered to be on display. Ride and drives are expected in a wide variety of vehicles including: BMW i3; Chevy Spark EV; Chevy Volt; Fiat 500e; Ford C-Max Energi; Ford Focus Electric; Ford Fusion Energi; Ford Ranger EV (1997-2003); Kia Soul EV; Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive; Toyota RAV4 EV; Nissan LEAF; MY15 smart fortwo electric drive; Kia Soul EV; Tesla Model S; Tesla Model X; Toyota Prius Plug-in; Volvo XC90 Plug-in; and Volkswagen e-Golf.

There will be booths where you can see what it is like to charge an EV at home or at a public charging station, learn about SDG&E’s special EV rates for charging at home; get information about state and federal EV incentives, talk to vendors about solar power and energy efficiency options; and chat with other local green businesses.

Keeping the kids entertained will be mini-electric cars presented by the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation.

There are ten 240‐volt charging stations two blocks away on Cushing Road.
