2014 National Drive Electric Week

National Drive Electric Week begins September 15-21. The national organizers are Plug In America, Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. Local organizations will produce over 120 events throughout the nation. Thousands of electric car enthusiasts and prospective EV drivers will attend. Started in 2011 as National Plug In Day, the event has evolved into an entire week and continues to be held in more cities each year. Every event includes test drives and information booths. Some events will also have EV parades.

Electric Car Insider will be participating in 31 events across the US over the week and this weekend. 

Scottsdale, Arizona

The event will be held September 20, 2014 at the Scottsdale Pavilions. Over 35 electric cars will be displayed.

Cupertino, California

Held at the De Anza College the 42nd Annual Silicon Valley EV Rally & National Drive Electric Week will feature some of the newest and most innovative electric vehicles. This event will also feature a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest EV parade.

Santa Rosa, California

This event will be co-sponsored by the North Bay Electric Auto Association and the Sierra Club's Sonoma Group. It will take place at the Coddingtown Shopping Center and features 14 EVs including the Tesla Model S.

Littleton, Colorado

Located in the Aspen Grove Shopping Center, Littleton is hosting 30 cars including some of the most popular EVs like the BMW i3, Tesla Model S and Nissan LEAF.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

The Night Owl Market will host a National Drive Electric Week event with test drives, music and shopping. It will feature a showcase of electric vehicles, artisan craft goods and plenty of food. 

Melbourne, Florida

The event will be located at the Melbourne City Hall and will be hosted by the Space Coast EV Drivers. There will be EV and environmental information booths along with a chance to test drive an electric vehicle.

Oldsmar, Florida

The National Drive Electric week event will be located at the Oldsmar City Hall. It will feature some of the newest EVs, ride and drives, and sustainable food and beverage vendors.

Orlando, Florida

This event will be held at the Lake Concord Park at Casselberry City Hall. Over 41 electric cars will be displayed with models ranging from the Nissan LEAF to the Cadillac ELR. 

Sarasota, Florida

This event will be held at the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. There will be ride and drives, food and information about EVs. 

Baltimore, Maryland

Held at the Maryland Science Center, this event will give you an opportunity to talk with EV owners, dealerships and enthusiasts alike. 

Worcester, Massachusetts

This event will feature the BMW i8 and i3 and is located at the National Grid Sustainability Hub. Nissan will be sponsoring ride and drives for those wanting to experience driving an electric car.

St. Louis, Missouri

Talk to owners and experience EVs at the St. Louis Science center on September 21, 2014.

Lindenhurst, New York

This event is located at the Town of Babylon Town Hall on September 20, 2014. Over 25 electric cars will be displayed including the Tesla Roadster. 

Cohoes, New York

The Cohoes event will be hosting a 2 mile EV parade. Over 42 electric cars will be displayed. 

Asheville, New York

Speak to owners and dealers about EVs at this event located at the Asheville Public Parking Lot. Ride or drive an electric vehicle on a 10 minute loop.

Portland, Oregon

Talk to local EV owners at the event held on Electric Avenue in Portland. There will an awards show that will be honoring the most EV miles drive, oldest EV and best decorated EV.

Devon, Pennsylvania

Experience the newest and fastest EVs on the market at this event held at the Tesla Motors Sales and Service Center. Over 51 electric cars will be displayed. 

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

This event will be held at the Heinz Field Parking Lot on September 21, 2014. There will be a mobile solar charging station on site.

Cranston, Rhode Island

On Saturday September 21, 2014 Ocean State Clean Cities Coalition members will be hosting the event held at the the Garden City Center. It showcases ride and drives, demonstration and raffles.

Bluffton, South Carolina

The National Drive Electric Week event will be held at the Technical College of Lowcounty. Speak with local EV owners, participate in test drives and test rides with local enthusiasts.

Austin, Texas

This event will be hosted at the Northwest Recreation Center. Over 58 electric cars will be displayed.

San Antonio, Texas

Alamo City Electric Auto Association is sponsoring the event that will be hosted at the UTSA Downtown Campus. There will be three charging stations, information booths and local EV enthusiasts displaying their cars. 

Issaquah, Washington 

The National Drive Electric Week event in Issaquah will be held at XXX Root beer. Over 64 electric vehicles will be displayed.
