Miami/Dade County Goes Electric With Events Celebrating NDEW

Two south Florida cities - Fort Lauderdale and Pinecrest - have events planned to celebrate National Drive Electric Week 2015.

On Saturday, September 12th is hosting an event at LauderAle, 3305 SE 14th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 from 12 PM - 3 PM. The organizers will have live music, ping-pong, food trucks, refreshments, beer and wine along with an electric vehicle accessories and parts showcase featuring companies sold on through their website on site. There will also be give-away items from the EVAnnex webstore including charging courtesy notices, charging hangtags, and more.

Scheduled to be at the event is Nick Howe; writer voted to have the all-time best posts by Tesla's own forum members. Nick is host of the Youtube electric vehicle video show "News from the Frunk" and author of the book "Owning Model S.” He will be available to sign copies of his book (limited quantities will also be on-hand for sale at the event).

Another noted guest scheduled to be at the event is Brooks Weisblat from He will have his record setting Tesla Model S P85D there. This is the car featured on the YouTube videos where people experience the P85D’s Insane Mode for the first time.

Also confirmed for the event is Reus Audio Systems from California. They will be showcasing high-end sound demos and audio installs at the event.

Signature Custom Wraps will be displaying vinyl wrapped local Teslas and other electric vehicles. will also have artwork showing throughout the event that pays tribute to the future of the electric vehicle.

The following weekend, Saturday, September 19th, the Village of Pincrest has their event scheduled at Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 SW Red Rd., Pinecrest, FL 33156 from 11 AM to 3 PM. Pinecrest Gardens is the jewel of this suburban village’s park system. Formerly, the site was a tourist destination known as Parrot Jungle. The NDEW event will take place in the Gardens’ tree-lined parking lot. Being billed as a family-friendly Tail Gate Party, not only will there be a variety of display EVs and test drives from local dealers, there will also be arts and crafts projects available for kids and local food trucks. Vendors of electric vehicle aftermarket parts are also expected. Pinecrest Gardens has a Tesla Supercharger and an additional free public EV charger on site.
