Colorado has 12 National Drive Electric Week Events Scheduled

Twelve NDEW 2015 events are scheduled throughout Colorado. Multiple events in the Denver area and Fort Collins, as well as in Rifle, Lafayette, Longmont, Golden and others means most events are never more than a charge away.

There are 3 events in the Denver area. Starting on Saturday, September 12th in the Firehouse Public Parking Lot, 1322 Blake St. (the Northwest corner of 14th and Market St.), Denver, CO from 10 AM to 2 PM. The event is sponsored by the Denver Electric Vehicle Council; and Refuel Colorado. Organizers are promising test drives in electric cars from Nissan and GM as well as having approximately 20 vehicles scheduled to be on display including Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model S, BMW i3, Coda Sedan, and a Zero Electric Motorcycle. Also get information about how Xcel Energy supports electric vehicles and charging stations for home and work.

The American Lung Association in Colorado and Denver Clean Cities Coalition present the Littleton event on Saturday, September 19th from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Aspen Grove Mall, 7301 S Santa Fe Dr., Littleton, CO. Local sponsors include the Regional Air Quality Council and Schomp BMW. The organizers also have a Tesla Model S P85D along with EVs from Porsche, BMW, Ford and Nissan available for ride and drives. The American Lung Association in Colorado and the Southern Colorado Clean Cities Coalition are sponsoring an event in Colorado Springs on Saturday, September 12th from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Chapel Hills Mall, 1710 Briargate Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80920. Organizers have more than a dozen EVs scheduled to be on display including Nissan Leafs, Tesla Model S and even a 1973 VW Bug conversion. The Golden Colorado National Drive Electric Week Event, sponsored by Golden Real Estate, is scheduled for Saturday, September 19th from 10 AM to 2 PM in the parking lot of Golden Real Estate located at 17695 S. Golden Rd., Golden, CO. Organizers are expecting nearly a dozen EVs at the event including Chevy Volts, Nissan Leafs, a BMW i3, Prius Plug-In and Zero Electric Motorcycle. Three Level 2 charging stations and one 240-Volt Tesla charging station will be on site. Boulder's 3rd Annual National Drive Electric Week Event, the 2015 EV Expo, is Wednesday, September 16th from 4 PM to 7 PM in parking lots just east of Boulder Farmer's Market. Organizers of the EV Expo are expecting local dealerships and enthusiasts to offer a variety of models to be available for public test driving including: Tesla Model S and Roadster, Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, BMW i3, Toyota Highlander Fuel Cell, Coda, Cadillac ELR, Benz Blue Drive, SmartCar EV, Fiat500E. Also, while at the event, learn about the EV incentives offered by the City of Boulder as well as the city’s EV initiatives. The AAA Emergency Charging Van will also be on display.

On September 19th, Longmont organizers are promising EVs ranging from Nissan Leafs to Chevy Volts to Ford Focus Electric to be on site for ride and drives at their event at 1840 Delaware Place. Also expected are several electric bicycles. Free Level 2 charging will be provided by Clipper Creek

Drive Electric Northern Colorado has multiple events scheduled for National Drive Electric Week, Beginning on the weekend of September 12th and 13th, DENC will be offering an EV shuttle to the Sustainable Living Fair. This is the second year for the shuttle, where attendees can test drive up to six different EV models to and from the fair, or just take them for a short drive. Find the DENC in the parking lot behind Odell Brewing Company at 800 E Lincoln Ave. Fort Collins, CO. The entrance to the parking lot is on Buckingham Ave. Test drives will be available from 9:45 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and  9:45 AM to 5 PM on Sunday.

Later in the week on Tuesday, September 15th, Drive Northern Colorado will be holding a workplace charging workshop. Any member of your company or organization can attend the workplace charging workshop to learn from other companies and organizations who are currently offering workplace charging. The workshop is taking place at the Colorado State University Lory Student Center in Conference Room 312. The event starts with a press conference from 9 AM to 10 AM and the workshop is from 10 AM to Noon. Each business in attendance at this event will be entered to win a free Level 2 charging station from Telefonix to install at their workplace.

Jax Outdoor Gear is working with NRGTynan’s Nissan,  and Drive Electric Northern Colorado  to celebrates National Drive Electric Week by having EV chargers from NRG EVgo at their 3 locations: Lafayette, Loveland and Fort Collins. Anyone who test drives a Nissan Leaf at any of the 3 Jax Outdoor Gear Location on Saturday September 12th from 9 AM - 12 PM will be registered to win up to $250 in Jax Outdoor Gear. There will be one $250 winner per store. Smaller prizes will be awarded at 10 AM and 11 AM. Jax locations are at: 900 US-287, Lafayette, CO; 950 E Eisenhower Blvd., Loveland, CO; and 1200 N College Ave., Fort Collins, CO.

Rifle's first-ever EV Ride & Drive is sponsored by Mountain Chevrolet and Glenwood Springs Ford. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 17th from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Rifle Branch Library, 207 East Ave., Rifle, CO. Mountain Chevrolet will show two Chevy Volts and Glenwood Springs Ford will show the Ford C-Max Energi. Both local dealers will have their knowledgeable sales staff on hand offering test drives. Organizers also plan on having a variety of local EV owners on hand with their vehicles to answer questions about living with EVs in and around Rifle. The library is just one block east of the Rifle Farmer's Market.The Rifle EV Ride and Drive event is hosted by Garfield Clean Energy, the City of RifleGarfield County Environmental Health, the Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Rifle Branch Library.
