The curved top tube of the Phantom X V5 line gives the new bikes from Prodecotech a swooping, contemporary look. Combined with flat bars and minimal decals, it's a clean look that should appeal to riders looking for a solid, all-around road ebike that won't break the bank.
Introduced in late 2015, the bikes feature the company's new Version 5 (V5) Samsung downtube-integrated battery system. The Florida-based company is responding to customer input and is transitioning their entire product line from rear-rack mounted batteries to the integrated battery system. Integrating the battery into the downtube keeps weight low and centralized resulting in better handling. An added benefit of the downtube-integrated battery is that the bikes can be equipped with aftermarket fenders, rack and pannier systems, which increases the bike's versatility.
The X RS V5 is the Phantom line's flagship model. At $2,499 the bike comes equipped with quality components from RockShox, SRAM, Velo and Continental. For the added price, when compared to the X and X R V5 models, you get upgraded suspension forks, brakes and 9-speed shifter.
If you're looking for a good looking ebike that can be easily outfitted to perform a variety of tasks, a Phantom X V5 should be on the short list to be taken for a test ride.
